About Faerietail

Faerietail is a small business run by Elisabeth Howe and Kathleen Oien. All Faerietail products are created by hand, from start to finish.

Elisabeth is in her final year of a design degree. She has worked as a costume and set designer for a number of theatre productions, and is currently directing an original play. As well as being an accomplished web graphic designer, Elisabeth has dabbled in all forms of art and craft, from sewing to soap-making.

Kathleen is a writer and ethnomusicologist who has always been interested in art and craft. She loves creating fun and funky wearable art using new and salvaged materials.

Faerietail designs are inspired by the artwork and writing of Brian Froud, an artist with a unique and captivating view of the world of Faerie.

Faerie Wings are made from a combination of materials, including heavy gauge wire, nylon, select paints and decorative accessories. They are extremely strong and durable, and will stand up well to a bit of rough handling.

Pixie Horns are made from a lightweight modelling clay, heat-dried and then painted and varnished for a longwearing finish. Horns are the perfect accompaniment to any faerie ensemble.

Faerie Wreaths are created with strong wire bases, which are decorated with flowers, beads and ribbons. Wreaths are a fantastic idea for flower girls, brides or more feminine faeries.

Faerie Apparel includes a variety of cloaks, short capes and faerie skirts, each in unique designs and fabrics.
